Prof Deeparghya Mukherjee's article titled ‘India's trade policy and GVCs: A Comment on Recent Policy Changes for Selected Sectors’ has been published by the Economic and Political Weekly (ABDC B). As India prepares to adopt the new trade policy, this article studies the trends in the global value chain participation of six sectors from Indian manufacturing, delving deeper into the nature of participation and value creation. It analyses the trends over the last few decades and connects them to the recent changes in tariffs and other policy instruments as announced in successive budgets of the Indian government.
