Prof. (Dr.) Sanal Kumar Velayudhan is an Adjunct Faculty in the Area of Marketing at IIM Nagpur.

Prof. Sanal Kumar was previously associated with the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode as Dean (Development) & Professor from 2007 till 2020. Before this, he was associated with Institutions like the Administrative Staff College of India, BITS Pilani, and XLRI. In addition, he has handled various administrative positions at IIMK, such as Dean, Chairman of Committees, Appellate Authority, and Member of BoG IIMK (for two years).

Prof. Sanal Kumar is a fellow of IIM Ahmedabad. He has designed and directed training programs in General Management and in the Area of Marketing besides teaching in the post-graduate programs. Also, he has handled consultancy assignments in Marketing for Central and State level public sector units, Public Sector Banks, and the Cooperative Sector. He has about four decades of experience in academics, administration, and consultancy assignments.

His research interests are in the areas of communication and diffusion, rural markets, small business marketing, product and brand management, and industrial marketing. Prof. Sanal Kumar has published and presented many papers in the area of rural marketing, brand management, small business marketing, and strategy. He has also published three books on Rural marketing, one of which is by Sage, an international publishing company.
