About Padma Shri Dr. Pritam Singh
- Dr. Pritam Singh is widely regarded as a business education trailblazer whose efforts transformed both public and private management education in India. Dr. Singh was an institution builder who oversaw prestigious institues such as IIM Lucknow and was instrumental in the creation of B-schools such as IMI Delhi and MDI Gurgaon, which helped set new standards in private management education in India. Dr. Singh, a visionary thinker with strong convictions, introduced Indian business schools to international accreditations and pioneered various executive education programs in Indian business schools during his stint as Director.
- Dr. Pritam Singh’s charisma extended beyond the classroom, having acted as an advisor to more than 200 CEOs from India and throughout the world on a wide range of business issues. As a member of over 20 corporate boards, he conducted over 100 retreats for the top management of private and public sector organizations, multi-national corporations, enterprise board members, and Vice Chancellors and Deans of Indian Universities to strengthen their governance. Dr. Singh also wrote ten highly regarded academic books (three of which have won awards) and published over 50 research papers. Dr. Singh was a sought-after global speaker who addressed a variety of Indian and global audiences.
- He was conferred with the Padma Shri in 2004 for his contributions towards management education, a first for a professor and a serving Director in India. He received more than a dozen prestigious national level awards. MIRBIS – the leading management school in Moscow honoured him with the 9th ‘GLOBAL THOUGHTLEADER’ award 2006- 2007, making him the first Asian to be receive such an honor.
About Dr. Pritam Singh Foundation
The Dr. Pritam Singh Foundation is a registered trust created by Dr. Pritam Singh’s friends and well-wishers. The foundation was established with the goal of carrying on Dr. Pritam Singh’s legacy and life lessons. The trustees, who include Mr Dwarakanath P (Former Chairman, GSK), Mr S Y Siddiqui (Executive Advisor, Maruti Suzuki), Dr H Chaturvedi (Director, BIMTECH), Dr Asha Bhandarker (Distinguished Prof, IMI-Delhi), and Dr B A Metri (Director, IM Nagpur), and a very distinguished advisory body, govern the foundation. So far, the foundation has hosted five round tables, one book launch (Role of Boards-Building a Sustainable Competitive Edge), and the first edition of the PRISM conference.
