Ankita Dash - An engineer turned economist, Ankita pursued her PhD in Economics from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) after completing her MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland College Park (UMCP), USA and joined IIM Nagpur as an Assistant Professor in the Economics and Social Sciences Department in 2020. An avid reader and traveller, Ankita has always been fascinated by history and different cultures and got the valuable opportunity of interacting with people from around the world as a grad student in the US.
She was introduced to the Japanese civilization, society, heritage, philosophy and the general way of life by her friends in grad school and this found a place in her doctoral studies as well where she worked on International Trade and International Macroeconomics. Ankita's research interests in Global Value Chains (GVCs), networks of firms, trade agreements and trade in services makes her highly interested in Japan as an economy and a people.

Prof. Rahul Kumar Sett

Prof. Sett is a Fellow (Ph.D. Equivalent) of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (2010). His research is primarily in the areas of strategic marketing, judgment and decision-making, consumer behavior and psychology, application of the real options theory, dynamic capabilities framework, and the working principles of complex adaptive systems in the context of brand management, and pricing. He takes a special interest in Indo-Japan comparative and cross-cultural studies. He harbors special interest in the Japanese Art & Aesthetics.
Prior to joining IIM Nagpur, Prof. Sett had worked as an assistant professor of Marketing at the International University of Japan, Graduate School of International Management (2015 to 2016), and the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (2010 to 2015), and with Microsoft R&D India Pvt. Ltd. (2004 to 2005), as an engineer. Presently, he is a visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
Prof. Sett was awarded the Nehru Fulbright scholarship for postdoctoral research in the area of management in the year 2013. He conducted this research at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School in Baltimore, USA.
Prof. Sett’s other interests include: Hindustani classical music, physical fitness, and high altitude trekking. He has been to the Mt. Everest base camp (5364m) and has learned to play the sarod under the tutelage of Pt. Buddhadev Dasgupta. He teaches mathematics to children in his spare time.
