Prof. Debarun Chakraborty is presently working as an Associate Professor in Marketing Management area & Chairperson in Online MBA at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Nagpur. He has more than 17 years of work experience across industry and academia. He has completed BE in Chemical, MBA in Marketing, and PhD in Management. Prof. Chakraborty teaches various courses, namely Innovative Promotion Strategies, Services Marketing, Rural Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Management, Business Research Methods for MBA & Ex-MBA programs, and Advanced Marketing Research & Analytics for PhD programs. His research interests include Technology Adoption, Human-Computer Interaction, Food Marketing, and Sustainability.

Prior to joining IIM Nagpur Prof. Chakraborty was associated with Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Nagpur, the constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, as a Professor. He has also served as Deputy Director and Research Head during his tenure at SIBM Nagpur. He has also guided two PhD scholars under Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune. He has also completed three international research projects with Saudi Electronic University UAE and one with Aston University UK. He is presently involved as a principal consultant with a consultancy named "Project Utkarsh" sponsored by Bhushilp Mines and Minerals Pvt. Ltd., Nagpur.

Prof. Chakraborty has published more than 45 papers in ABDC A* & ABDC A category journals namely Journal of Business Research, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Retailing & Consumer Services, Decision Support Systems, Journal of Sustainable Tourism, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Technological Forecasting and Social Changes, Technovation, Journal of Hospitality Marketing & Management, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Electronic Commerce Research, Journal of Global Information Management, Journal of Environmental Management, Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research and many more.
