Navratri Mela-2020

Navratri is a nine-day long Hindu festival that is celebrated every year in autumn. The word Navaratri means ‘nine nights’ in Sanskrit. The nine days of Navratri are dedicated to Goddess Durga and her nine Avatars – the Navadurga. Each day is associated with one of the incarnations of the goddess. Navratri is all about honoring Ma Durga. It is not just about destroying the darkness but also bringing about the destruction of evil thoughts and feelings within humans themselves.

Abhyudaya – the cultural club of IIM Nagpur, is hosting a feast for its family, this time in a virtual mode. Starting from engaging and informative online interactions, to hosting the first-ever online Dussehra Mela from 23rd to 25th Oct; Abhyudaya is set to bring innumerable exciting events to infuse energy and zest in the folks with wonderful prizes. The first-day event will include individual games, giving an opportunity to relive the childhood games everyone enjoyed as a family, during Navratri celebrations. The second day’s activities would entail a battle royale between 20 teams, all competing to show who is the most creative and in touch with their cultural roots. Finally, on the third day we have the much-awaited Mr and Miss Dussehra contest.

Let’s eradicate all the negative thoughts in our minds and work with positivity towards our goals. Being happy is good, but spreading happiness is even better. Abhyudaya is calling out to everyone, join us, be a part of this joyous, informative, interactive session- let’s spread happiness!
