Anoop Kumar

Prof. Anoop  Kumar is retired IAS officer of the 1990 batch; he obtained his Post Graduation in Political Science from the University of Allahabad, and an M.Phil. in International Politics from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.    He has done his MPA (Masters in Public Administration) from Maxwell School of Public Affairs & Citizenship, Syracuse University, USA.

He has 34 years of administrative services and earned various accolades and certifications from national and international institutes. As an IAS officer, he has held numerous leadership positions in public administration, contributing significantly to governance, policy-making, and agriculture and rural development.

In Government of Maharashtra, served as Additional Chief Secretary, Dept. of Cooperation & Agricultural Marketing, Additional Chief Secretary, Dept. of Agriculture, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy & Fisheries and Agricultural Marketing, Divisional Commissioner, Nagpur Division. During the period also served as acting Vice Chancellor, RTM Nagpur University. Chairman (Additional Charge), Vidarbha Statutory Development Board. Led strategic initiatives to reduce developmental backlog in Vidarbha as Chairman of the Statutory Development Board

Served Government of India on On Central Deputation as Executive Director (Storage, Silos & IT), Food Corporation of India, New Delhi, Private Secretary to Union Minister, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy and Director, Disability Division, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment

Before central deputation, served as DG, Vasantrao Naik Shetkari Sahayya Mission, Amravati to contain the Farmers suicides in Vidarbha . He also worked as Managing Director, Maharashtra State Seeds Corporation Ltd., Akola  and District Collector, Akola

His areas of work include governance, public policy formulation and implementation  , government projects, planning, executive education, evaluation and monitoring etc. He also has rich experience as Agriculture strategist  in the field of agricultural business management and capacity-building for farmers, FPOs, and rural entrepreneurs.
