Prof. Debarun Chakraborty is presently working as an Associate Professor in the Marketing Management area & Chairperson - Blended MBA for Working Professionals at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Nagpur. He has more than 18 years of work experience across industry and academia. He has completed a BE in Chemical, an MBA in Marketing, and a PhD in Management. Prof. Chakraborty teaches various courses, namely Innovative Promotional Strategies, Services Marketing, Rural Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Management, Business Research Methods for MBA & Ex-MBA programs, and Consumer Behavior, Academic Writing & Publishing & Advanced Marketing Research & Analytics for PhD programs. His research interests include Technology Adoption, Human-Computer Interaction, Food Marketing, and Sustainability.

Prior to joining IIM Nagpur, Prof. Chakraborty was associated with Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, the constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, as a Professor. He has also served as Deputy Director and Research Head during his tenure at Symbiosis. He has also guided two PhD scholars under Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune. He has also completed three international research projects with Saudi Electronic University in the UAE and one with Aston University in the UK. He is presently involved as a principal consultant with a consultancy named "Project Utkarsh" sponsored by Bhushilp Mines and Minerals Pvt. Ltd., Nagpur.
