Indian Institute of Management Nagpur celebrated 75th Independence Day on 15th August 2021 with immense pride and zeal. The day’s proceedings commenced with the inspection of the guard of honour by Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director IIM Nagpur, followed by the flag hoisting ceremony. Then, addressing the gathering, Director paid homage to the brave soldiers and enlightened the students with his words of wisdom.
This independence day theme revolved around unity in diversity. We have different cultures, languages and we celebrate various festivals. But in our soul, we all are Indians. History witnessed events like standing with our soldiers, supporting our scientists, or cheering for our country in any sports. We all come together as Indians before everything else.
PGP1s, with their soulful performances, paid homage to our freedom fighters without whose sacrifices India’s independence would have been impossible. They took us through various achievements of our nation since the day of independence that has rekindled our love for the motherland and inspired us to contribute to our nation’s glory. We rejoiced the winning moments at Olympics 2020, Tokyo, with a folk dance performance dedicated to Olympians.
Freedom in our minds, faith in our words, pride in our hearts, and memories in our souls, with a beaming heart full of pride and joy, we concluded the event pledging to uphold the spirit of oneness and unity in all our doings.
