NAGPUR:

IIM Nagpur recently played host to the prestigious CNBC Awaaz ‘Udaan’ event, a high-octane gathering that brought together industry veterans, social entrepreneurs, and academic leaders to discuss the theme of future-ready leadership. The event was headlined by an inspiring keynote interaction with Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director of IIM Nagpur, who challenged students to redefine their career trajectories.

In a captivating dialogue with veteran business journalist and Associate Executive Editor of CNBC Awaaz, Vipin Bhatt, Dr. Metri emphasized that the leaders of tomorrow must master the delicate balance between IQ and EQ. “Success in modern management is not just about technical intelligence; it is about emotional resilience,” he noted. He urged the management graduates to ‘leave their comfort zones and explore themselves,’ asserting that true growth only occurs when one is willing to face the unknown.

The event kicked off with a dynamic panel discussion titled ‘Own the Moment: Decisions that Shape the Future’, moderated by CNBC anchor Kanchan Nautiyal. The panel featured Vijay Barse, the legendary founder of Slum Soccer; Deepak Menaria, Founder of LEMON Ideas; and Shubhendra Singh Thakur, Co-Founder and CEO of EarlySign. The speakers shared lived experiences of how decisive action in critical moments can create lasting social and economic impact.

Following the panel, Manpreet Singh Gandhi, Regional Head of UTI Mutual Fund, conducted a deep-dive session on ‘Decisions without a Cushion: Managing Finance in High-Stake Scenarios.’ He provided the students with a pragmatic roadmap for wealth creation, focusing on systematic investment strategies and the importance of a target-oriented outlook that remains immune to market “gimmicks.”

The day concluded with a Fireside Chat featuring Neelesh Agrawal, Director of RC Plasto Tank & Pipe Pvt Ltd, conducted by Vipin Bhatt. Agrawal shared the remarkable journey of ‘Plasto,’ illustrating how strategic decision-making at pivotal junctions can scale a business from local roots to industrial prominence. The event left the student community with invaluable lessons on navigating the complexities of the professional world with both courage and financial prudence.
