Nagpur, April 25: “We are rapidly advancing towards the ‘digital’ world and this is going to be our future. Be prepared to face the challenges of this ‘digital’ world with new opportunities,” said Shri S N Subrahmanyan, CEO & Managing Director Larsen & Toubro, while addressing students during the convocation ceremony held at Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM Nagpur) on Sunday.
The convocation ceremony was conducted for the 4th, 5th and 6th batches of IIM Nagpur at its new MIHAN campus. A total of 424 students were awarded degrees during the ceremony. Shri Subrahmanyan was the chief guest to the function while Shri C P Gurnani, Chairman of Board of Governors, presided over. Shri Vaibhav Dange, Building Committee chairperson and Member Board of Governors, Shri Amit Ambekar, Member BoG, Shri Puneet Pushkarna, Member BoG, graced the occasion.
Shri Subrahmanyan said, crisis, like the pandemic and Russia-Ukraine war, have plagued the world and has caused a lot of upheaval in all the areas. However, this has led to many innovations, opportunities and has given us new perspective towards life.
“Set your goals, work hard to achieve them without using any shortcuts. Success and failure are an integral part of life. Try correcting mistakes, get into the habit of reading,” Shri Subrahmanyan advised the students. He advised them to continue the learning process, hone skills like music, sports as they help level you in life.
Management students have a lot of employment opportunities in the industry. You will be able to fulfill your dreams based on perseverance, willingness to work hard and strong desire, Shri Subrahmanyan added.
Director IIM Nagpur Dr Bhimaraya Metri reviewed the performance of the institute.
Awards
A total of 424 students were conferred degrees at the convocation ceremony.
The Best Scholastic Performance Award and Best Allrounder Performance Award for year 2018-20 batch went to Ankita Joshi and T Bharath respectively.
The Best Scholastic Performance Award and Best Allrounder Performance Award for year 2019-21 batch went to Eina Gupta and Sheikh Fareed Ahmed respectively.
The Best Scholastic Performance Award and Best Allrounder Performance Award for year 2020-22 batch went to Dimpy Khurana and Samruddhi Koli respectively.
