Nagpur | August 16: Coal India Limited (CIL) signed a MoU with IIM Nagpur on August 16, 2022. As per the MoU, IIM Nagpur will design customized training program on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Management for CIL. As many as 100 CIL executives from different disciplines will seek training under the program. The training program will be conducted under the Centre of Excellence for Corporate Governance, CSR & Sustainability (CGCS) of IIM Nagpur.
“I am pleased to sign the MoU with IIM Nagpur as it gives CIL a fine opportunity to upskill its executives with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Management. As far as I know CIL is the first Maharatna PSUs to initiate such a training program for its executives,” said Mr Vinay Ranjan, Director (P&IR) Coal India Ltd, on the occasion.
Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director IIM Nagpur, said, “All fossil fuel companies should have ESG compliance. ESG is not an option anymore. CIL has set an example by initiating upskilling program for its executive.”
