OPEX, The Operations club at IIM Nagpur was delighted to host Dr. Mangesh Gharote, Research scientist, TCS research and innovation lab on 18th November 2018. Operations and supply chain management aspirants got the opportunity to learn about various cases – Telescope Scheduling, Retail Merchant Advisory, Data Residency in a privacy-sensitive world wherein students got to know about the General Data Protection Regulation framework. The unique concept of refining and defining the problem and the importance of addressing the problem at the design level was explained in a very interesting manner. Students were also enlightened about the problem of workforce allocation in detail wherein they learnt how various interesting problems like campus recruitment planning, Trainee allocation problem, etc. are solved using Mathematical Modelling. Stable matching application and constraints were also discussed in detail.
The valuable insights and experiences shared by Dr. Mangesh will help students make important career decisions wisely.
