“FINesse, the finance club of IIM Nagpur, was pleased to host Mr. Sharad Sharma, Co-Founder of iSPIRT foundation, on 25th January 2022 for a knowledge session as a part of its Fintalks series.
Mr. Sharad started the session by asking the students their understanding of public goods. He then introduced the concept of India Stack to the students and gave examples of how eKYC, Aadhar, eSign, Digilocker, etc are all products that function on this technology. He also presented some eye-opening stats and facts about the growth of UPI since 2017 and how it was one of the 1st FinTech success stories from India. Sir also spoke in length about how India had for long been more an assembler than a researcher and how iSPIRT aims to challenge this notion by building products. He also briefly touched upon some key topics such as lending, payments, banking, etc. Overall, the session was very informative and was critical in enlightening the students about a whole new world of Fintech.
