IIM Nagpur was privileged to host Ms. Maryann Tseng, Managing Director, CLSA; Mr. Abhinav Sinha, Investment Analyst, CLSA; Mr. Patrick Russel, Director, Northcape Capital; Mr. Cameron Robson, Senior Analyst, Northcape Capital and Mr. Marshal, Principal Financial Group.
The interaction started with how IIM Nagpur has positively influenced every student to push their own boundaries and step out into the unknown. The guests enlightened the students not only on the areas of corporate governance but also on how one should invest, keeping a holistic view of practicality. The discussion revolved around the importance of governance in an organization, the criteria and metrics on which the investors gauge a company’s health before investing, and the ways to identify wrong-doing with respect to governance in organizations. To add to that, the guests were keen on understanding students’ perspectives regarding business opportunities and threats prevalent in India currently, over and above students’ personal interests and career choices. The session ended with suggestions from the esteemed guests towards moulding the students’ careers, so as to realize their best potential.
