Swaviskaar was elated to have Mr. Anshul Chauhan on board with us for a candid discussion on 29th October 2020 at 3 pm. His films have bagged prestigious awards like the Obayashi Prize, Grand Prix at the 23rd Black Nights Film Festival organized in Estonia, and Grand Prize in Brussels.

During the session, he gave us a thorough walk-through of his life journey. He talked about the impact of the military school on his personal and social life and early steps in his career in the field of animation, with films like Delhi Safari and series like Everything’s Rosie. He talked about how his strong will and motivation to pursue a career in movie making gave him the strength to overcome the traditional Indian family pressure and choose his passion.

Mr Chauhan spoke about how he later moved to Tokyo to learn more about his life’s passion, motivation, and immense learning experiences in Japan and its culture. He talked about his vivid experience in cinema and how he worked across diverse animation films, filmmaking and derived in-depth knowledge from them.

It was a story of a truly inspirational journey. It helped us understand the difference between a job, career, and calling and helped identify the calling in our life. The most prominent attributes were – Hard work, Vision, Self-belief, Discipline, Stoicism, and Passion. His story has undoubtedly infused the students of IIM Nagpur with fresh vigor, and re-invoked that intense drive to follow their dreams and surmount the insurmountable!
