IIM Nagpur inaugurated the first batch of the PG Certificate Programme in Business Management for IT Professionals (BMIT) on Saturday. Mr K Sridharan (Director, Mindshare Learning Centre, San Jose, CA, USA & CEO, CleverInsight, Bangalore, India) gave the inaugural address on the occasion. The event was attended by IIMN Director Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Executive Education Chair Prof Atul Pathak, Programme Coordinator Prof Kapil Kaushik, EEP Manager Mr Baskaran Nagappan, Dr Sanjay Salunkhe (CEO, Jaro Education) as well as participants of the programme, and the staff and faculty of IIM Nagpur.
In his address, Mr Sridharan related how competencies in data science could bring about a massive change in the industry. He mentioned that AI is evolving at an exponential rate, and professionals should ensure that they also learn at the same pace, as these skills would contribute to the improvement of processes no matter which sector they work in. Mr Sridhar also emphasized on the positive impact the learnings from the course could have on decision-making capabilities of the participants.
