With a vision to create value driven leaders, global managers and entrepreneurs with strong conceptual foundations, IIM Nagpur, a designated institution of national importance started its operations six years ago. Having set benchmarks in the area of management education and industry engagement initiatives, the institute is set to establish its satellite campus at Pune, the city which stimulates scholarship and academia and equally inspires the go getters to spread their wings.
In its short journey, IIM Nagpur developed the flagship two-year Post Graduate Programme which is now a course sought after by aspiring MBA students of the country. The institute also focused on expanding the academic activities with industry specific Executive Education Programme, MBA for Working Professionals, InFED – an incubation centre for aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage startups. These courses are made robust and sharp with inputs from eminent experts from academia as well as industry and well-designed immersion modules.
Keeping up the momentum, IIM Nagpur signed an MoU with CIRT Pune, an institute which works on improving the efficiency and productivity of transport sector. With this signing, IIM Nagpur is setting up its satellite campus at CIRT campus and plans to create a collaborative space for relevant courses and extending its ideology of engaged scholarship.
IIM Nagpur kicked-off its activities in Pune with an interaction held on Tuesday, September 07 with Corporate leaders, industry experts and media.
More than 200 Corporate leaders and HR heads of the industry came together to participate in the dialogue and offered their valuable experience-rich ideas for developing a mutually enriching relationship.
At the occasion, Shri C P Gurnani, MD & CEO, Tech Mahindra and Chairman, IIM Nagpur Board of Governors, said, “I am excited to announce the launch of IIM Nagpur’s satellite campus at Pune, India. With a vision to make disruption a norm by creating an ecosystem of future young leaders who are agile, resilient and ready to adapt the dynamic business landscape to stay relevant, the establishment of the Pune campus is a step towards a new beginning in the field of management. This campus will provide a platform for industry leaders and academia to come together and shape the ‘leaders of tomorrow’ by providing world-class education and mentoring.”
CIRT in its 108 acres’ campus will provide the necessary infrastructure which IIM Nagpur will supplement to suit the requirements of running the courses and allied activities.
The initial courses to be offered are Short and Long Duration Executive Education Programmes and MBA for Working Professionals. Research and consulting collaborations will also be an important feature.
Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur during the interaction enlightened the gathering on the plans for Pune campus. He said,” The launch of the Satellite campus of IIM Nagpur at Pune is a prestigious milestone in the short history of the institute.”
A key aspect of IIM Nagpur’s mission is to make an impact on the practice of management. The launch of IIM Nagpur’s satellite campus at Pune is a stride in this direction.
