IIM Nagpur, in collaboration with ISDSI – G (International Society for Data Sciences and Innovation – Global), is delighted to host the ISDSI-G 2021 Conference – Leading Business in a FLUID World.
The inauguration ceremony of the ISDSI-G 2021 conference started with lamp lighting ceremony followed by the welcome address by Prof. Prakash Awasthy (Conference Chairperson) for one of the largest hybrid conferences.
Dr. Ravi Kumar Jain (Director SIBM Hyderabad and Secretary General of ISDSI-Global Conference) mentioned that this is the first conference of ISDSI-G after ISDSI turned global. He also spoke about the eventful journey of the Conference.
Dr. Bhimaraya Metri welcomed the guests, participants , and students to the first ISDSI-G conference at IIM Nagpur’s new state-of-the-art campus in MIHAN. The conference is being conducted following the Covid guidelines. He shared the IIMN’s exciting growth journey in terms of programs, faculty members, students, infrastructure, and placements.
Prof. Arun Elias (Dean, Fiji National University) mentioned how academic institutes have different interests in research depending on the nation and how the conference is attracting participants across the globe.
Mr. Kamal Bali (President and Managing Director, Volvo Group) emphasized the importance of the need to transform onself into unique personality. He stressed on moving away from the comfort zone in creating new opportunities. He reminded that change and quality are the things which are constant. He mentioned that the paradigm of leadership is moving at an unprecedented pace and spoke about the socio-economic transformation that has not happened for decades.
Prof. Suresh Sethi (Director of Center for Intelligent Supply Networks at The University of Texas at Dallas) spoke about what causes inefficiencies in the supply chain and the impact of learning on supplychian coordination.
Ms. Usha Singh (Director HR, MOIL Limited, India) spoke about role of data in operations the impact of data science on the future and everything in existence. She emphasized the importance of data analysis to in the future for mankind. She also mentioned the importance of planning with flexibility to handle uncertainties and concluded by underlining need to be passionate to achieve anything.
The ceremony concluded with vote of thanks from Prof. Gunjan Tomar (Conference Chairperson), extending gratitude to all the guests, faculty, participants, and student volunteers.
