Finesse, the finance club of IIM Nagpur was honored to host Prof. Pratap Giri, Adjunct Faculty (IIM Bangalore, IIM Visakhapatnam, IIM Nagpur, IIM Raipur, S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research and Great Lakes Institute of Management) to deliver a session on ‘Economic analysis of Union Budget and its financial implications on corporate sector’. Prof. Giri focused on two core areas of the budget – Economic Vitality of India & Economic Survey. With the quantitative analysis of the various macro-economic factors of India, Prof. Giri provided precious insights into various underlying aspects of the budget. The discussion ended with a critical analysis of the government’s vision to make India a 5-Trillion-Dollar Economy by 2024, and the necessary steps to achieve this goal.
The session was exhaustive enough as it covered all the major aspects of the budget and at the same time, conversant too for coming out with a meaningful conclusion. Students were given the opportunity to apply their MBA learnings and reach a meaningful assessment.
We are thankful to Prof. Pratap Giri for such an interactive session coupled with real-life examples which have helped us to get a better understanding of the Union Budget 2019 -20 and its impact in the upcoming days.
