Swaviskaar – The Arts Community is delighted to invite you to an interactive guest session by Padma Shri and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Dr Shovana Narayan, as part of the event Prabodhan 1.0, on Understanding the Role of Arts in Academia. Dr Shovana Narayan is a world-renowned Kathak Dancer. A disciple of Pt. Birju Maharaj, Dr Shovana Narayan holds a Master Degree in Physics from Miranda House, Delhi, M.Phil in Social Sciences from Punjab University and M.Phil in Defence and Strategic Studies from the University of Madras. She has also served as a career officer for the Indian Audits and Accounts Service. Dr Narayan has a portfolio of diverse books to her name; a few of those includes Indian Classical Dances, Performing Arts in India: a Policy Perspective, Dance Legacy of Patliputra and Folk Dance Traditions of India.
