OPEX – The Operations Club completed its third episode of OPTALK Series 2019 with esteemed guest Ms. Mukta Khanna, Associate Director-Supply Chain at PepsiCo as a guest speaker for the session on ‘Impact of Supply Chain on Procurement’.
Ms. Khanna started the session by explaining the importance of Supply Chain and how various factors such as regulations can affect it. She talked about the reasons that cause the variation in demand of finished goods. She also touched upon planning competencies and how it plays a key role in Supply Chain. She discussed scenarios when there is a mismatch between forecasting and actuals and how to deal with such situations through procurement strategies. She also discussed how planning should be done to mitigate forecasting failures.
