The 8th Convocation of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur will be held on May 11, 2024, at the MIHAN campus of the Institute at 10.30 am. During the ceremony, 290 students will be conferred the MBA & Executive MBA degrees, respectively. The occasion will witness 259 MBA students from the 2022-24 batch and 31 Executive MBA students at IIM Nagpur Campus of the 2021-23 batch conferred degrees.
Dr. Anand Deshpande, Founder Chairman & Managing Director of Persistent Systems, will grace the Convocation ceremony as the Chief Guest.
Mr. CP Gurnani, former MD & CEO – TechMahindra & Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Nagpur, Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur, and the Members of the Board of Governors will grace this occasion.
This ceremony will also witness both MBA & Executive MBA students conferred with the ‘Best Scholastic Achievement Award.’ Likewise, MBA students will be conferred the ‘Best All-Round Performance Award,’ recognizing their merits as meritorious students having excelled and attained remarkable positions.
Keeping the NEP 2020 vision for excellence under consideration, IIM Nagpur is well prepared and offers holistic education, besides ascertaining the creation of a conscious corporate culture. The fast-growing Institute has already initiated a “Life Management Skills” course for MBA students that distinguishes them from the rest. Such innovative ideas are always encouraged and welcomed.
The Institute strives to bring distinction through innovation, motivation, overall support, and encouraging the implementation of modern education infrastructure that should groom students wholly and prepare them to project themselves as global leaders in their respective professions.
The pre-convocation evening is another attraction at IIM Nagpur. It is when the graduating students share their memories during their tenure at the Institute. Presenting certificates to those involved in various Club activities is a notable attraction of the occasion. Those who performed outstanding under different categories, such as Scholastic, Allrounder, and Sportsperson, are facilitated.
The Sponsored Awards categories include the Bank of Baroda sponsoring prize money along with certificates to 3 students under the categories of ‘Best Academic Performance,’ ‘Best Allrounder,’ and ‘Best Performance in Sports’ besides the State Bank of India sponsoring prize money along with a certificate to one student under the categories of ‘Best Academic Performance in the DSIS Area’ are worth noting.
Likewise, the Central Bank of India sponsoring prize money and a certificate to one student under the ‘Best Academic Performance in the Finance Area’ category is another motivating factor for the graduating students.
The pre-convocation evening seeks attention with a ‘Best Wishes’ gesture followed by a live concert and dinner for a happy farewell and unbound memories.
