General Rules

General guidelines that the library user needs to follow are:

1. Biometric machines are installed at the library ground floor & first floor. It is mandatory for all the users to Punch in and out of Biometric machines whenever they visit the Library. In case Biometric Machines do not work, kindly enter your details in the library register available at the Library ground floor & first floor.

2. Following activities are strictly not allowed inside the library.
i. Meetings/Discussions (group, club, casual, chit chats etc.)
ii. Mobile phone usage
iii. Moving of library furniture
iv. Smoking
v. Eating

3. Except laptops, notes books and books users are not allowed to carry their personal belongings (bags, briefcases, parcels etc.) and eatable items (biscuits, cookies, fruits, chocolates, cold drinks, tea/coffee etc.) in the library.

4. Mobile phones and other gadgets should always be in silent mode.

5. Users should maintain silence in the library and should not disturb other users in any way.

6. Users are responsible for their belongings at all times. When leaving your seat, please take your things with you. Do not leave your belongings in the library.

7. Books or other materials taken from the stacks should not be re-shelved by the readers. Please leave it on the table to avoid misfiling.

8. Before you check out from the library, please make sure that the book/s you are borrowing is/are not damaged/marked.

9. Users should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library material in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he/she will be charged with the full replacement cost of damaged material and may lead to suspension of library account and be barred from entering the library.

10. Library’s computing facilities and database access are for the exclusive use of IIM Nagpur faculty members, students, staff and registered library members.

11. Users of the library should note that all e-resources subscribed are licensed materials and cannot be shared with the outside community as it may lead to copyright/license violation.

12. Users are requested to handle the library property carefully to avoid damage.

13. Consistent violation of library rules leads to suspension of library access.
