Nagpur, February 13, 2024 | IIM Nagpur successfully inaugurated the 6-month Business Management Programme for the Armed Forces Officers (DGR). The honored guests included Brigadier Rohit Mehta, Additional Director General for the South Zone at the Directorate General Resettlement under the Ministry of Defence. They delivered remarks alongside Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, the Director of IIM Nagpur, and esteemed professors, including Professor Shailendra Nigam, the Programme Coordinator, and Dr. Sapankumar Singh, the Senior Manager. Dr. Metri emphasized the significance of this initiative for both the participants and the institution in aligning with the broader mission of fostering leadership and management excellence.
The Business Management Programme for DGR is a 6-month custom certificate programme for the retired and retiring Officers, or due to retire soon from the Short Service Commission (SSC) and Permanent Commission / Indian Defence Forces. Such programmes help armed forces officers transition smoothly into civilian roles by equipping them with relevant business management skills and knowledge. The programme was designed with the goal of equipping officers with the skills and information necessary to successfully transition to the corporate world, while also enhancing general management competences and core business abilities.
