“We had a chance to know the real life applications of Machine learning, the most trending topic of the day. On August 13th, 2017, Predixion, The analytics club of IIM Nagpur, organized “Use of machine learning techniques to solve business problems” session by Mr. Tejas Sanghavi, Head of Staffing at Fractal Analytics.
As there are two sides to a coin, any concept has two sides to it. The technical aspect of it and the practical aspect which is real life application. The session helped to connect the technical aspect to the real life application of many techniques we have learned in the class. The session helped us to understand the various applications such as churn, sales forecast, idea testing etc. in different industries. It stressed the importance of domain knowledge to become a good data analyst. The session was very interactive which made us feel like 2 hours passed in just 20 minutes. It gave us an idea of the vision of people like Elon Musk. (Hope a day comes where we will not be able to distinguish a man from a machine with the help of artificial intelligence) It helped IIM Nagpur students to gain a lot of inspiration and valuable insights about various applications of analytics in many industries.”
