IIM Nagpur was delighted to host Mr. Bharat Melag, Head Consumer Solutions, Visa, for yet another amazing session of our flagship Leadership Webinar Series – VIHAAN 2.0. The theme of the discussion was “Impact of Covid on Digital Payments.”
The discussion started with Mr. Bharat expressing his views about the five major macro trends in digital commerce from Visa’s point of view and the key forces that were creating an impact in their region.
He talked about the shift in buyer and seller preferences in the post-Covid world and also highlighted the importance of providing greater security, transparency, and protection as more buyers and sellers venture further into digital commerce. He touched upon the various new trends emerging in the fintech sector and what implications these technologies have on the banking industry.
He also emphasized the need for banks to rethink their business models and explore alternate use cases like data, API, and intelligence as these would be useful tools in the near future.
